We’ve been on a tour bus for the past hour, intending to go to the Everglades and eventually take an airboat ride through the swamp. Unfortunately, we keep running into a little snag.
Apparently, tour bus companies in Miami Beach are in a cut-throat battle for supremacy, and keep stealing one another’s customers.
We’ve now stopped three times and observed our bus driver arguing with another bus driver over whether certain customers on our bus belong to this company. These people are NOT playing around.
The first time, the two drivers stood inside our bus and argued for ten minutes, right in front of us, first in English and then in Spanish. The couple being argued over stood there helplessly wondering whether they should listen to the new driver yelling at them to get off the bus, or to our driver yelling at them to stay on.
We then stopped a second time and watched people get off and move to another bus at our driver’s direction. Then another bus stopped us and demanded that two of our passengers get on their bus.
While I was writing this, two more people were removed from the bus and then, after more arguing, returned.
The Everglades cannot possibly be as entertaining as the trip there!
That is ridiculous! Why do they keep stopping? Just drive dammit!
I demand a proof of life before any further exchanges..
