2010 HRC Carolinas Gala

For the past couple of years, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has held its annual Carolinas Gala right here in Charlotte. Last year, I attended the 14th annual HRC Carolinas Gala, and left there looking forward to returning in 2010, and bringing as many of my friends as possible with me.

Except it’s not going to be in Charlotte this year.

Yes, the 15th annual HRC Carolinas Gala will be held in Raleigh this year, on Saturday February 27th at the Raleigh Convention Center. For Charlotte residents, that means a drive (or Amtrak train ride, or flight) to Raleigh, and presumably an overnight stay at the Marriott City Center hotel.

That’s sure as hell not going to stop me from going, however.

Yes, I’ll be taking the train up to Raleigh on Friday evening and spending the weekend. It’ll be my first visit to Raleigh, and my first “weekend away” to a new city in a long time. I’ll be joined by several friends from the bank, and expect to have a wonderful and inspiring weekend.

I hope you’ll come join me.
