While the cat’s away…

Sal is going to be traveling to Virginia for several days next week, as part of a tour with his new job. Of course I’m delighted for him — his first few performances at schools around the greater Charlotte region this week went well, and his castmates are all uniformly WONDERFUL people — but part of me is sad that he’ll be away for four days. I’ve gotten used to having him around! In my mind I pictured four days of me moping around, bored and lonely, with sad music playing softly in the background…

And then I thought of something that perked me right up, as dismissive as that sounds. It turns out, Tuesday, September 22nd is a very special day.

It’s the day Halo 3: ODST gets released for the Xbox 360.

You want to know what I’m going to be doing next week? I’m going to be glued to the couch, a headset permanently embedded on my head, chugging Diet Mt. Dew like nobody’s business, and getting pissed off at twelve-year-olds who will undoubtedly be DEMOLISHING me despite having just received their copy of the game also.

Here are a few trailers (thanks for the intro, Anthony!) that have me salivating. Enjoy!
