Sarah Palin vs. Rick Santorum

Okay, I’m in an existential crisis here. Two ultra-conservative politicians whom I abhor are apparently at each other’s throats: former governor Sarah Palin and former senator Rick Santorum. (See a small sample of previous posts on Sarah Palin here, here, and here, and two posts about Rick Santorum here and here.)

So who do I root for in this alleged feud? Palin or Santorum?

Apparently Mr. Santorum made a few snide remarks about Mrs. Palin, certainly a notable conservative political figure, choosing not to attend the Conservative Political Action Conference this week:

“I have a feeling that she has some demands on her time, and a lot of them have financial benefit attached to them,” said the former senator, adding, “I don’t live in Alaska and I’m not the mother to all these kids and I don’t have other responsibilities that she has.”

Ouch.

So here’s Sarah Palin’s response:

Mr. Santorum hopped on Twitter to insist that this is all being blown out of proportion: “This article is garbage. All I said was- she is VERY busy, PERIOD. Reporter trying to create something out of nothing.”

In the end, it probably is a simple case of two political figures getting into a pissing contest and reaping some media coverage from the whole thing… But it makes for good soap opera drama, doesn’t it?
