Avenue Q is one of my favorite musical comedies. It’s funny, it’s heartwarming, it’s irreverent, it’s downright shocking at times. (The things these puppets do onstage is enough to scar the weak-minded – consider yourself warned.) So imagine my delight when I learned that $25 tickets are available for the upcoming tour through Charlotte!
And even better, Blumenthal’s “Out on the Town” affinity group is hosting a reception before the show with free food and free wine/beer.
I’ve been to a number of “Out on the Town” events, where the group hosts a free reception before an evening performance, and guests are treated to food and drink on the house. It’s a great way for Blumenthal to give back to the community, specifically showing their support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) theatre patrons. (And straight supporters of LGBT people come to the events as well to show their own support, not to mention enjoying free food and drink with them!) They’re always a good time, and a great way to start off an evening of theatre.
In fact, there are actually TWO opportunities for discount tickets. For those who are looking for better seats, click here for a $10 discount on Rear Orchestra and Grand Tier tickets on Thursday April 7th. If you’re content with seats farther back, or you want to attend on Tuesday or Wednesday that week, click here for $25 tickets in the Grand Tier and Mezzanine.
Whether you attend on the “Out on the Town” performance on Thursday the 7th, or another night during the tour, definitely go see Avenue Q. You’ll be shocked, appalled, and delighted.
