On vacation in Florida last week, I developed a new obsession — Tabatha’s Salon Takeover on Bravo. After a dozen episodes, I’ve even developed a drinking game.
No really, check this out.
First, the show: I don’t have any interest in hair, in salons, or any of that. But damn, do I enjoy watching Tabatha (an expert in the salon business) come take over a struggling salon for a week and teach the owners, managers, and staff to work together effectively. Nevermind the setting — the themes around business management and teamwork are just extraordinary.
Seeing these employees and business owners behave so unprofessionally is appalling (and thus, entertaining) and I enjoy my outrage over their excuses and self-serving justifications. But even more astounding is the remarkable transformation that Tabatha & Co. make in the salon and the staff — almost all episodes show an outrageous salon that turns itself around into a breathtaking business.
One side bit of entertainment is Tabatha’s sometimes overuse of certain catchphrases… So in the spirit of my Scream drinking game, Clue drinking game, and even political speech drinking game, I bring you… the Tabatha’s Salon Takeover drinking game.
Tabatha’s Salon Takeover Drinking Game
Take a shot or drink every time Tabatha:
- Says the word “absolutely”
- Claims that she is “gobsmacked” by something
- Uses the word “hairdresser”
- Tells someone to “step up”
Take a drink whenever she runs her hand over something and it comes away dirty/dusty/filthy/etc.
Game on!! How about a shot every time she takes on a look of horror over something stupid/self-rightous someone says? Oh, wait, game over in the first 15 minutes as all players would be passed out…
