I mentioned in a recent post that I was excited about some upcoming HR and Diversity education. Recently I found a quick and easy resource for continuing HR education, and most of them are FREE.
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) offers free webcasts on a variety of HR and management topics. You can take these from your office, or even from your couch, either when they’re hosted live or as a recorded session afterwards.
The SHRM Webcast Archive lists all of the webcast recordings that are available. As I said above, most of them are free, but a small number do have a fee associated with them.
If you’re looking to participate in a live broadcast, you can check out upcoming webcasts at the Upcoming SHRM Webcasts website. (It also shows the most recent recordings, if you’re looking to stay up to date on the current research and such in the field of Human Resources.)
And for those of you (like me) who are looking for recertification credits, these all count towards your continuing education requirements.
But hey, even if you’re just curious about the field, or if you’re a professional looking to brush up on your management/HR skills, check out the site. A little ongoing education never hurt anybody.
