Okay, so a few weeks ago, Sal and I were interviewed for a documentary about finding love in New York City. We were probably on camera for about twenty minutes or so, telling the story of how we met and eventually got engaged.
Turns out, it was a Justin Timberlake music video. And it was featured on Ellen.
A friend messaged me on Facebook to ask if I had been in a Justin Timberlake music video. My initial reaction was that of course I wasn’t — but then I thought about that documentary film that we did. The one I didn’t think was going to go anywhere.
I frantically Googled and found it in seconds — on an article on Rolling Stone’s website. Yup, I’ve been on Rolling Stone.
The article referenced a segment on Ellen, in which she was discussing Justin Timberlake’s new video. Sal and I sat down to watch it, stunned that the interview we’d done had turned into this. Here’s the music video:
Now, if you watch it through, you’ll see we are only featured for one second, at about the 4:31 mark. A twenty minute interview, full of stories, turned into one moment of playfulness on screen. Disappointing, yes, but still…
We were on Ellen. In a Justin Timberlake music video. That we read about on Rolling Stone’s website.
I’m alright with that.
(But here’s hoping our story makes it into the next installment of the story!)
