Late scholarly nights

Just like Monday evening, tonight was another night of schoolwork until 2:00am… But in both cases, it was my own fault (in one way or another).

I knew that this program was going to be a lot of work, but I didn’t realize in advance that my own choices or fixations would rob me of so much sleep. And this is just Day Three.

Prioritization and Balance

Today is my last official day of freedom for a few years… Week 1 of my Ph.D. program technically starts tomorrow, so I’m spending part of today thinking about how I’m going to prioritize my time going forward.

I’m seriously going to have to give up almost all of my “me” time, and then some.

Ph.D. Residency, Part Two

I’ve now completed the second and almost third day of my first Ph.D. residency, and my brain is officially mush. I’m excited, intrigued, fascinated, and exhausted all at once.

I can honestly say that I’m not sure I would’ve gone down this path if I had any idea what I was getting myself into. But I am so, so glad that I did.

A thirteen hour day marked the beginning of the first residency for my Ph.D. in Human Capital Management at Bellevue University today. And from what I’m gathering, I’d better get used to days like this.
